Outliers: Also referred to as Super Humans or Specials, it is a term designated by the government referring to those individuals with special abilities or traits ("Super Powers"), natural or artificial. It is an umbrella term that, while mostly referring to those affected by Panacea's explosion is also used when referring to those who have gained their abilities through science or other artificial means.
Variants: Variants are what the government refers to the unique abilities and powers belonging to those labeled as Outliers.
Superium: A special alloy that has strong regenerative and restorative properties.
Panacea: A strange star that mysteriously appeared nearly Sixty Five years ago. The star's death is what resulted in the earth being bombarded by its unique radiation, causing a number of super powered individuals to start appearing around the globe.
Magic: A natural occurring source of energy that has many different origin points based on where it is born from. Magic cannot be harvested or used by those who are not spiritually in tune with the world they are trying to communicate with. To use magic the caster must commune with a world beyond our own and use said magic to etch runes into the air around them before the spell can take shape.
Great Mother: The great spirit who many know and refer to as 'Mother Nature'. She is the source of all magic stemming from natural and elemental forces.
Outer Gods: A collective name given to a host of beings who came to or visit Earth from "Behind the Stars". They exist amongst the stars but are not categorized as aliens as they come from a dimension beyond our own. These beings can anoint a specific human to act as an extension of their will, completing tasks to bring the world under their rule. These anointed humans are known as Avatars .
Dreamers: A Dreamer is a human who has had their consciousness transcend beyond our dimension and into another. Anyone can become a Dreamer at anytime and who becomes one cannot be predicted or fabricated. Dreamers can transcend endlessly through dimensions and warp reality to their will. They are either as harmless as an average human or as dangerous as an extinction level event.
Avatars: These are men and women who were chosen or possessed by an Outer God. The powers of these individuals include enhanced strength, durability, and spellcasting. They are the acting force on Earth for their respective deity, attempting to complete a set of goals to awaken their master so they may take control of Earth. Because of this the Avatars are often in constant conflict with one another but there are times where they can work together to stop forces outside of their "circle" from taking over Earth.
